Novak “The Djoker” Djokovic
Tennis is one of the sports I grew up with. When I was younger my dad worked as a tennis coach and would regularly take my sister and me down to the local courts on weekends to play.

Although I don’t really play much any more I still like to watch, and I have immense respect for professional tennis players. It’s one of the few sports where the mental aspect of the game is just as vital as the physical aspect.
I’m a big fan of Novak Djokovic. The man is a great role model and sports personality for various reasons.
He is a great example of physical and mental dedication to the sport of tennis. He is a joker/entertainer on and off the court. If you’re curious just check these out Novak Djokovic: Hilarious Moments II.
Not only that, he sets a great example by giving back with his Novak Djokovic Foundation, an organisation which greatly helps children of disadvantaged communities in Serbia, his home country.
As he just won Wimbledon again, I thought I’d share my homage to the player and entertainer.
I’ve showed my process work here, initial sketch ideas and pose development. It’s a piece I really enjoyed working on; on the court he’s like a gazelle and seamlessly flexible for a man of his size, hence the splits pose. And the juggling, obviously because he’s an entertainer.
Hope up like. Come on Novak! (Sorry Federer fans!)

13th July, 2015Ainsley,
I was looking for good tutorials on perspective drawing. Your art work speaks volume on perspective. Is it possible to post a blog with emphasis on perspective drawing.
Thanks
Ains

Yeah I think that’s a good idea for a post. It is one of the more challenging areas of creating more realistic art.
I’ll have a look at getting some of my work together and see if I can share something of value.
